One of I-STEP’s four core areas

Inclusive Training

Inclusive by design

Access, representation, accessibility, equity and meaningful involvement are built into this area from the start, not added at the end.

Inclusive Training develops inclusive learning processes, capacity building and practical resources for the people who deliver them.

What this area covers

A method only matters if someone else can run it. Inclusive Training works on the design of learning itself: how a session is structured, how a facilitator is prepared, how a resource is written so that a stranger in another country can pick it up and use it well. It covers training design, capacity building for educators and practitioners, and the documentation that makes good practice transferable rather than personal.

Who it is for

Trainers and facilitators; organisations building the capacity of their own teams; and networks that need a method to work the same way in several countries at once.

What members can develop together

Training designs tested in more than one context. Facilitator guides that assume no prior contact with the authors. Accessible materials by default, not on request. Honest evaluation of what did not work.
