Accessibility statement

I-STEP Network wants this website to work for as many people as possible, regardless of technology, ability or access needs.

Our commitment

We aim to provide a website that can be perceived, understood, navigated and used by a broad range of people, including people who use assistive technologies.

Our target is substantial conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time technical check.

Measures taken

• Semantic HTML and a consistent heading structure.
• Keyboard-operable navigation, forms and interactive controls.
• Visible focus indicators and a skip-to-content link.
• Labels, instructions and error messages for form fields.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images and an accessible text alternative to the member map.
• Responsive layouts intended to remain usable on small screens and at increased zoom.
• Colour combinations designed to maintain sufficient contrast.
• No reliance on colour alone to communicate essential meaning.

Known limitations

The website is being developed and expanded. Newly introduced plugins, embedded third-party content or user-supplied documents may create accessibility limitations that are not yet identified.

Interactive maps can be difficult for some users. The members map is therefore accompanied by a searchable directory and text-based information.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, tell us what happened, which page or function was affected, and the technology or browser you were using where relevant. We will review the issue and seek a proportionate solution.
