Konya Provincial Directorate of National Education (Konya İl MEM) is a regional public education authority in Türkiye responsible for coordinating education and training across 31 districts. Its extensive ecosystem includes 2,913 schools, 36,439 teachers and more than 543,000 learners across preschool, primary, secondary, vocational and adult education.

Inclusion, skills development, employability, lifelong learning and active participation are central to our work. We develop and implement initiatives addressing learners with disabilities and special educational needs, disadvantaged and rural learners, adults, young people and other groups facing barriers to education, skills development and participation.

Our areas of expertise include inclusive education, vocational education and training, adult learning, teacher professional development, digital inclusion, civic and citizenship education, employability skills, EU values, community engagement and educational innovation. Through our broad regional network, we can connect schools, VET institutions, adult education centres, public authorities, universities, municipalities, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Konya İl MEM has participated in more than 140 EU-funded projects and has experience in Erasmus+ partnerships, policy experimentation, Jean Monnet and Horizon-related cooperation. We also hold Erasmus+ accreditations covering School Education, Vocational Education and Adult Education.

By joining I-STEP, we aim to contribute our large-scale implementation and piloting capacity, exchange inclusive practices with international partners, strengthen pathways between learning, skills and participation, and develop new European cooperation in inclusive training and employability. We can also support dissemination, stakeholder engagement, policy dialogue, transfer and scaling of successful approaches through our extensive educational ecosystem.
