About the organisation
Interkultura is a civil society organization based in Skopje, North Macedonia, with extensive experience in youth work, culture, non-formal education and community development. The organization operates at local and national levels and actively participates in international cooperation, creating opportunities for young people, cultural actors and community members to learn, connect and work together.
Interkultura develops and implements projects in the areas of youth participation, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, culture, volunteering, social integration, employment, sport, ecology, and social and humanitarian action. Particular attention is given to encouraging young people to take an active role in decision-making processes and community life, while strengthening their knowledge, practical skills, confidence and employability. Through training courses, workshops, cultural activities, youth exchanges and community initiatives, the organization promotes mutual respect, tolerance, non-violent conflict resolution and cooperation among people from different ethnic, cultural, religious and social backgrounds.
Environmental responsibility is also an important part of Interkultura’s work. Its activities raise awareness of climate change, energy conservation, renewable energy and sustainable development, encouraging young people and communities to adopt more responsible practices. By connecting cultural diversity, youth empowerment, social inclusion and environmental action, Interkultura contributes to the development of more active, inclusive and resilient communities in North Macedonia and beyond.
