About the organisation
ICENECDEV (International Center for Environmental Education & Community Development) was established in 2005, with registration number: 43/G.37/D.14/1/ VOL.BAPP/ in accordance of law Number. 90/53 of December 1990 under article 7 relating to the formation, governing and functioning of association in Cameroon.
ICENECDEV is a resource- based organization. ICENECDEV works with a team of resource persons ,consultants and volunteers to address key Environmental issues related to social and Economic aspects of global, national and local concerns which affects lives, livelihoods and communities in Cameroon and African countries.
ICENECDEV uses Environmental Education as an approach to share information, create awareness and address issues of global, national and local concern: climate change, Biodiversity conservation, marine litter, water and waste management, Air Quality monitoring, food security, land degradation and disaster risk reduction .
ICENECDEV enforce and push conventions, Environmental legal instruments and mechanism ratified by Government of Cameroon and African Countries into national plan of action, development programmes which are translated into local actions and contributing to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)

Engaging Girls in Miss Environment Contest

Miss Environment contest is annual environmental event to demonstrate the involvement, and commitment of the feminismtin environmental Protection, promote biodiversity conservation, social equity and Economic progress within the Context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), 2035 Agenda of Cameroon and African Vision 2063. The aim of the Miss Environment Contest is to promote the environmental dimension of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through Ecofeminism for the Restoration of our Planet Earth. The Theme and Slogan for the 5th Edition of Miss Enviornment contest are: Girls and Women in Environmental Leadership and Governance Design of Flyers, Brochures, Miss Environment Magazines and Distribution of Flyers to partners -Organise 2 Webinars with Miss Environment Contestants and Miss Environment Models on Sustainable Fashion, Bioeconomy and Zero Waste Tolerance in the Textile Industry -Design and Develop the Miss Environment Magazines and Miss environment Blog -Develop an online crowdsourcing Campaign for the Miss Environment Contest programme -Develop a policy brief on Gender, Ecofeminism and Environment Sustainability and Contribution of the African Girl Child to achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030.

Engaging Communities in Plastic Waste Prevention and Reduction

ICENECDEV is Partnering with Coastal Communities and the Norwegian Retailers Environment Fund,Waste Ocean Free Belgium and Ocean Initiatives of the Surfrider Foundation on prevention of plastic pollution, Beach clean up campaigns to save the Atlantic Ocean and West Coastline Cameroon from Plastic bags and pollution and Establishment of Plastic Village management committee recuing coastal communities from plastic pollution and engaging in plastic waste transformation of more than 50,000kg. ICENECDEV is Engaging Communities in Plastic Waste Prevention Along Douala-Edea Coastline Cameroon.The goal of this project is to improve domestic plastic waste management and reduce pollution in order to protect human health as well as to enhance the quality of the coastal and marine environment in different regions in Cameroon including the Gulf of Guinea and Wouri Estuary. Project Tasks include: - Develop a policy brief on Future of Plastic Pollution Treaty - Organise 2 Webinars on Environmental Health of Waste Pickers and Collectors - Develop a training guide and Manuals on the environmental Health Standards of Clean Up Campaigns -Develop Advocacy Campaign Messages and Policy Brief on Environmental Rights of Waste Picking Associations/Companies/Organisations
Empowering Persons with Disabilities in Cameroon

`ICENECDEV Empowered and Donated Wheel Chairs to Person with Disabilities in Cameroon with Financial Support from MIVA Switzerland .This project provided 17 wheelchairs to physically challenged for community members in Great Soppo, Tole, Bunduma, Dibanda and Lower Bokova in south West region Cameroon, improving mobility, independence, and access to education, healthcare, and community life. More than 70 Percent of disabled in Cameroon cannot afford assistive devices and Equipments and so they remain isolated or dependent on caregivers and Family Members . By distributing wheelchairs with financial donation from MIVA Switzerland .Miva Switzerland and ICENECDEV restored dignity, enhance inclusion, and improve overall well-being among the disabled in Communities in Cameroon Project Tasks include: Identification of 25 Potential Partners technical and financial - Develop project Proposal on Empowering persons with disabilities on Vocational Trainings and Donation of Wheel Chairs and Educational Materials - Develop a paper and policy brief on Contributions of Persons with Disabilities to the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 Agenda. -Develop an online advocacy Campaign to advocate for the support Persons with Disabilities
