YAKA is a youth organisation based in İzmir, Türkiye, working to empower young people aged 15–35, particularly those facing barriers, as well as youth workers. We use non-formal education, international mobility, volunteering and participatory learning to strengthen knowledge, skills, leadership and active participation.
Our work focuses on non-formal education, youth participation and active citizenship, volunteering and solidarity, international mobility, social entrepreneurship and social impact. We aim to create inclusive learning environments where young people from different backgrounds can develop competences, exchange experiences, take initiative and contribute to their communities.
YAKA develops and participates in international youth projects, particularly within Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, while also building local and European partnerships that connect youth work with inclusion, skills development and community engagement. We are especially interested in improving opportunities for young people facing educational, social, economic or geographical barriers and strengthening the capacity of youth workers who support them.
Through cooperation with civil society organisations, youth workers, educators and international partners, YAKA seeks to exchange practices, develop sustainable partnerships and contribute to more inclusive, resilient and socially responsible communities. Our vision is a future in which young people empowered through solidarity, active citizenship and intercultural learning become leaders of positive social change.
