Acerca de la organización

Wish is a Zagreb-based non-profit organisation advancing the rights of vulnerable groups and empowering them to participate fully in society. Founded by professionals with long experience in social care, it works primarily with deaf and hard-of-hearing people, blind and visually impaired people, children and young people with disabilities, and youth at risk of exclusion.

Since April 2024, Zaželi has been a licensed social service provider under an agreement with the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, delivering personal assistance and communication mediation for deaf persons.

Its work combines direct services with information, counselling, advocacy, public-policy monitoring and action against discrimination and xenophobia. The association designs and delivers non-formal education, workshops, trainings and awareness campaigns, and produces toolkits, manuals and research reports on inclusive youth work.

Zaželi has implemented projects funded by the European Social Fund, the EEA and Norway Grants, Erasmus+ (KA1, KA210 and KA220, as coordinator and partner), the Ministry of Culture and Media, the City of Zagreb and the Central State Office for Demography and Youth. Recent themes include civic empowerment of children and youth with disabilities, media literacy and countering fake news, greenwashing and climate action, cultural participation of deaf people, and labour-market reintegration of inactive NEETs. Ongoing Erasmus+ work includes coordinating a KA220-YOU project on tokenism in youth participation, developing an Inclusion Index Benchmark tool for youth organisations.

It works with a small permanent team supported by more than fifteen external experts and a broad network of partner organisations in Croatia and across Europe, alongside close cooperation with state
