Inclusive
Inclusion is where the network starts. We build access, representation and equity into every method we produce, and we treat them as part of the design from day one, not a box to tick at the end.

What we do here
Most exclusion is not caused by a single barrier. Economic disadvantage, gender inequality, disability, discrimination and digital gaps tend to overlap in the same person’s life. The Inclusion group works with that reality, using an intersectional approach so that a method built for one group does not quietly shut out another.
We turn that approach into tools educators and community organisations can apply directly: inclusion toolkits, guidance for reaching people who are usually left out, and equity frameworks that shape how an activity is planned and run.
The group also reviews the rest of the network’s work. Before a course or a project output is published, it checks that inclusive practice is built in, so inclusion runs through everything I-STEP does rather than sitting in its own corner.

- Guidance for reaching people who are usually left out
- Equity reviews applied across the network’s projects
Who this is for
- Organisations that work with people facing exclusion
