About the organisation

Youth Council Next Generation (YCNG) is a non-profit, non-governmental youth organisation founded in 2010 in Skopje, North Macedonia. It was established by a group of young active citizens with the aim of creating meaningful opportunities for youth participation, learning, and civic engagement. Over the past 15 years, YCNG has developed into a recognised organisation operating at local, national, and international levels, promoting European values, inclusion, democratic participation, and intercultural cooperation. The organisation has built a strong reputation for quality youth work and long-term partnership development within Erasmus+ and other EU programmes.

The mission of YCNG is to empower young people to become active, responsible, and socially engaged citizens. We promote volunteerism, intercultural dialogue, entrepreneurship, digital competence, social inclusion, and sustainable development. Through non-formal education methodologies, we equip young people with practical skills, critical thinking abilities, leadership competences, and confidence to actively contribute to their communities. Our work is guided by the principles of equality, participation, respect for diversity, and human rights.

YCNG targets young people aged 13–30, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic background, or geographical location. We place particular emphasis on youth with fewer opportunities, including those facing economic, social, cultural, or geographical barriers. Our projects are designed to ensure accessibility, inclusion, and equal participation in all activities. We believe that empowering disadvantaged youth is essential for building democratic resilience and social cohesion in Europe.
