This Cookie Policy explains which cookies this website uses and why. How I-STEP Network processes personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. WHAT COOKIES ARE

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work; others, such as analytics or advertising cookies, are optional and may only be used with consent. This website uses only the first kind.

First-party cookies are set by this website. Third-party cookies are set by another service used on the page. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.

3. IN SHORT

  • A first visit to this website sets no cookies at all.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies, tracking pixels or any other tracker.
  • Cookies are set only when you close the cookie notice, follow a member's invitation link, or sign in as a member or administrator.

4. COOKIES THIS WEBSITE USES

4.1 Strictly necessary

These cookies are needed for a function you have asked for, so they do not require consent.

istep_consent

  • Provider: this website (first party).
  • Purpose: remembers that you have closed the cookie notice, so that it is not shown on every page.
  • Duration: 6 months. After that you are asked again.
  • Set: only when you press "OK" in the cookie notice.

wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash], wordpress_logged_in_[hash], wp-settings-[user ID], wp-settings-time-[user ID]

  • Provider: this website, through WordPress (first party).
  • Purpose: keep members and administrators signed in securely, and remember their interface preferences.
  • Duration: the session, or up to 14 days when the person chooses to stay signed in. Members who set their password from the link in their welcome email stay signed in for 14 days. The preference cookies last up to one year.
  • Set: only for people who sign in. Ordinary visitors never receive them.

4.2 Functional

istep_invited_by

  • Provider: this website (first party).
  • Purpose: when you arrive through an invitation link shared by a member organisation, remembers that organisation's public invitation code so that a membership application can be credited to it. It contains no information about you.
  • Duration: 30 days.
  • Set: only when you open an invitation link containing invited_by.

5. LANGUAGE

The language of each page is part of its address (/es/ for Spanish, /fr/ for French). No cookie is used to remember it.

6. EXTERNAL SERVICES THAT SET NO COOKIES

  • Maps: the pages that show the member map load map images from CARTO. Your browser connects to CARTO to download them, so CARTO receives technical data such as your IP address and browser type. CARTO sets no cookies through this website.
  • Fonts and scripts are served from this website itself, not from external providers.
  • Brevo (member communications) and Google Cloud Translation (translation of published content) are used from our server only. They place nothing in visitors' browsers.

7. NO ANALYTICS AND NO CONSENT NEEDED

This website does not measure its audience and uses no analytics service. Because it only uses the cookies described above, there is nothing to accept or refuse: the cookie notice shown on your first visit is for information, and the "Cookies" link at the bottom of every page shows it again.

8. MANAGING COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under privacy or security. Blocking every cookie will not stop you reading the website, but it will prevent members from signing in and the website from remembering that you have closed the cookie notice.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie. If an optional cookie is ever introduced, it will be described here first and will not be used without your consent. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
